Aitzaz barred from attending BB’s chehlum

LAHORE: The Punjab government has turned down Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President Aitzaz Ahsan’s request for attending former premier Benazir Bhutto’s chehlum in Naudero today.

Aitzaz’s cousin, Advocate Aftab Ahmed, told Daily Times on Wednesday that the Punjab Home Department had sent a written order to the SCBA chief, saying, “Since the Sindh government has banned your entry into that province, the Punjab government cannot allow you to attend Benazir’s chehlum in Naudero”. The Punjab government barred Aitzaz from going to Naudero to condole with Pakistan People’s Party Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari on February 6. staff report
